Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) | Credit.org – Consumer credit counseling service agencies are Internal Revenue Service 501(c)93) nonprofit organizations that will help you find a workable solution to financial problems. Each CCCS agency offers a common set of services, including financial education, budgeting assistance, and Debt Management Plans.

Opportunity Alliance Nevada – Will connect Nevadans with a Volunteer Financial Navigator to answer your questions so that you may actually be better off after the crisis than before. Volunteer Financial Navigators are a one-on-one, virtual support service using knowledgeable volunteers. They are not licensed professionals, but caring neighbors with backgrounds that can work with you to help with your financial needs.
Free Tax Return Preparation – The IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals.
Utility Assistance
The Energy Assistance Program – provides a supplement to assist qualifying low-income Nevadans with the cost of home energy. EAP helps reduce energy bills by making payments directly to the energy company on your behalf.
Temporary Rental & Utility Assistance (TRUA) – The City of North Las Vegas has partnered with local nonprofit agencies to offer assistance to North Las Vegas residents who are facing a housing crisis or hardship to help prevent eviction or displacement.
Project REACH (Relief through Energy Assistance to Prevent Customer Hardships) – An NV Energy Foundation funded program designed to help vulnerable adults who meet the income guidelines and are experiencing economic hardship. Project REACH is administered through United Way of Southern Nevada and is available year-round until funds are exhausted.
Elko County Social Services – Provides assistance with rent and utility services for individuals who meet income guidelines and criteria.
Lincoln County Human Services – Provides senior nutrition, transportation, homemaker program, food, mobile pantries, emergency assistance, and program referrals.
